Low Level Laser Therapy

The beam from a low-level laser, also known as a soft laser, is a light with special properties and is used in medicine for therapeutic purposes. The light is visible and high energy but athermal, that is, it does not produce any heat and therefore does not destroy tissue. Instead, the laser beam penetrates the cells and modulates their energy metabolism, which is referred to as biostimulation.

LLLT is used for various indications in obstetrics (including mastitis, sore nipples, caesarean section, episiotomy), for infants (napkin dermatitis, umbilical cord stump healing) and for pain management and wound healing in various medical fields as well as in veterinary medicine.

Mode of action

The high-energy laser light has a regulatory effect that stimulates the metabolism of the cells. This leads to activation of the cellular metabolism and energy production in the cell, an increase in phagocytosis and increased formation of connective tissue fibres and epithelial cells. Various biomediators are also modulated by the laser.

Treatment

Therapy with Solardo eco is very simple. To treat the affected site, the recommended treatment time is set and the laser is held 1 to 2 cm in front of the area.

For point irradiation (for laser acupuncture and joint irradiation) the laser is placed directly on the skin.
For field irradiation, small fields are completely irradiated while larger fields are irradiated in sections one after the other.
